Our Story

Meet Our Founder: Cecil Lopez

Cecil Lopez is a dynamic school leader with a one-of-a-kind journey, spanning tech, HR, real estate, and education. Before entering school leadership, she worked as a computer programmer in New Jersey, as an HR manager in the Philippines, where she restructured hiring systems and was promoted twice within a month. Additionally, she gained expertise as a licensed realtor, developing skills in negotiation and community engagement.

Cecil transitioned into education as a teacher, later serving as a math coach, assistant principal, and districtwide instructional leader across more than 40 campuses. Her work has driven double-digit STAAR gains, empowered teachers to become district leaders, and helped turnaround schools build systems that last. At one campus, her leadership in behavior systems earned recognition from Region XI as a district model for PBIS implementation.

She is also the architect behind Istation’s K–2 math blueprint—an innovation that shaped their national digital curriculum and engaged teams of programmers, animators, and specialists.

Cecil is deeply rooted in Fort Worth—both professionally and personally. As an active member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, she collaborates with civic and business leaders to uplift the city’s educational future. Since 2024, she and her family have joined Fairpark Baptist Church, The Potter’s House, and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office and Chaplaincy Department in supporting the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Christmas event, which serves over 800 families of incarcerated individuals each year. Moved by the impact of this initiative, Cecil continues to meet with these partners in 2025 to deepen her long-term commitment to restoring joy, dignity, and a sense of belonging across the Fort Worth community.

Cecil brings visionary leadership, strategic execution, and a deep love for the community—qualities that are shaping the future of The Peak International STEM Academy.
